Weekly Reflection ~ August 14th 20th Sunday in Ordinary Time
August13,2016
Jeremiah never wanted to be a prophet because he knew it meant telling people what they did not want to hear. There are times when we are also called upon to say things that people do not want to hear. It can be very hard to speak the truth when it isn’t popular. It is equally hard to hear the truth when we find it challenging or uncomfortable.
Reflect on your own experiences. How did you respond to the opportunity to speak a truth that you knew would not be popular? How well did you accept a truth you did not want to hear? How can you become better at both?
