CHANGES TO OUR CONFIRMATION PROGRAM
Beginning Fall 2023, St. Anthony, St. Roch, and Sts. Peter and Paul Parishes will begin offering a joint parish program for the Sacrament of Confirmation. This Confirmation program will begin in the student's 8th grade year and conclude at the beginning of the fall semester of the 9th grade years with the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. This program will take the place of 8th grade CCE. Students AND parents are reuiqred to attend the first class on Wednesday, September 6, at 6:30p.m. in the SAS Library. A lot of information will be given, so please make plans to attend.
SAS 8th graders will begin Confirmation preparation in their religious education classes. They will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at the beginning of the fall semester of the 9th grade year also.
There will no longer be a High School Confirmation Program after this school year. Therefore, ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (incoming 9th graders-12th graders) who have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation and would like to, need to attend the High School Confirmation program this year. This program will begin Sunday, September 10th at 9am in the St. Anthony Cafeteria and conclude at the beginning of the fall semester of the next year with the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Registration forms are available in the narthex of all three parishes and in the church offices, as well as on the St. Anthony Church website (stanthonycolumbustx.net/the-sacraments.html). Please complete the forms and bring them and copies of the student’s Baptism and First Communion Certificates to the St. Anthony Church office prior to the first class.
Please share this information about the new changes so that no one is left out. If you have any questions, you can contact the St. Anthony Church Office (sec.stanthony@gmail.com or 979-732-2562) or Kathryn Robinson (k.robinsonym@gmail.com).
